Apple House
Gan Yavne
Apple House, established in 1954 for a dozen immigrant children, is now home to 200 children and youths aged three to 18. They were sent to the village by the welfare services or court order to protect them from domestic violence and disputes.
Apple House offers them a warm, supportive environment and professional care to help them overcome the effects of their painful histories. Through the years, thousands of Apple House graduates have served in the army and gone on to normal, stable lives as productive members of society.
Some of the ways your contribution can help make a difference at Apple House:
Preparation for life : Successful assimilation into Israeli life can be greatly aided by a special training program in basic skills needed in the outside world. A new, self-managed residential unit is planned for the village grounds.
The residents will learn how to organize and maintain their household, apply for a job, manage a bank account, deal with official institutions, and so on.
